Even the young male cashier was very nice at checkout. I called ahead to see if they carried the items I was looking for and the woman looked it up and told me the store had them in stock and to come check them out.
I was looking for something special in clothes and 2 different sales persons were very helpful in 2 different departments.
Great store. Offer a number of classes, attended a couple which were good. Staff have always been great and very helpful answering any questions.
Always a pleasure to shop. The employees are knowledgeable and extremely professional. Thank you, Jim
I spend a lot of time outdoors mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, etc... so to me the idea of REI is awesome. I should love this place as it basically has 90% of the things I need to enjoy my experience outdoors. However, every single time I have left the Framingham store I have left frustrated, annoyed and sometimes enraged. The store has a great selection of gear and most of the time has everything I'm looking for, however, the employees I have dealt with at this location are the absolute worst. The worst. The employees here maintain an impressive balance of giving off the impression that it's either their first day on the job or it's their very last day and they just don't care any more. Between the lack of knowledge and being negative helpful (that's a thing right?) most of the time the experience at REI leaves me so agitatedm I just order whatever I need through amazon prime. They have the same selection, same price or cheaper, and I don't get assaulted at the register with the same tired "are you a member", "don't you know the benefits of being a member", "ya sure you don't want to be a member, even though you only come here once a year and leave disappointed" speech time and time again.
REI is typically my go to store for outdoor gear. However, the service is the shoe department is the worst! Over the past few years I have purchased 2 pairs of Salomon Speedcross 4, Keen hiking shoes and North Face winter boots and each time the experience in the shoe department has declined. Tried purchasing winter boots today and not one sales person would help me. I received many looks like they were going to help me, but they would help the next person walking into the department. Finally I asked for help then was told they were helping the person next to me who had just walked up to the shoe section. This poor customer service has forced me to purchase my snow boots online through a different retailer. Thank you REI for wasting my time today.
